The society of the Preservation of Madison Barracks is proud to announce the 2012, “Made in New York” Festival Saturday July 7th. To be held once again on the grounds of Historic Madison Barracks in Sackets Harbor NY.

The one day festival Saturday July 7th, 11:00 am to 9:00 pm will showcase products and services uniquely made in New York State. It is designed to feature and promote produce from local farms and farm products, local grass fed beef and free range chicken farmers, fruits and vegetables, arts, crafts and NYS Wineries and select NYS Craft Breweries. Over 75 vendors are expected to come together for this second year to promote a common theme “ Buy Local” .

Once again the benefactor of this year’s festival is “Meals on Wheels” of Greater Watertown. For the past 40 plus years the organization has served the greater Watertown area. Quietly Meals on Wheels through its volunteer base serves upwards to 350 meals per week. As our state and federal government budgets flounder with deficits, the needs of the elderly, impoverished, and handicap do not. Demand for meals has raised and both the organizations cost and the personal cost to volunteers has risen as well. In addition to promoting local products and services this festival events objective is to raise the profile of the Meals on Wheels organization and generate a significant amount of funds as a donation.

In addition to the fund raising aspects and the vendor portions of the show, this year’s event is anchored by a day long music entertainment venue. 6 outstanding bands both local and national recording artist will hit the stage at noon, beginning with a return performance of Waydown Wailers, new to the festival the ever so popular locally known Double Barrel Blues Band, a return of the legendary Wirlwind, and fresh off a tour with Jeff Beck, Tyler Bryant and the Shakedowns. Last year’s show stoppers Blue Coupe and the national recording artist The Edgar Winter Group will top off the festival as the days headline bands.
